Our asbestos testing services are available throughout all Melbourne suburbs. If your building was constructed prior to 1990 it is recommended to establish whether there is any asbestos present anywhere on your property.

Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, anyone owning or conducting business in a building has a legal responsibility to ensure that the health and safety of the occupants. Real estate agents are also obliged to disclose the presence of asbestos or any other hazardous materials to potential buyers.

We do NOT recommend the use of asbestos home asbestos testing kits as they are simply a means of obtaining a sample which you must then send off to some unknown laboratory. There will be no guarantees as to turnaround time or the quality of service. To be sure of an accurate result, you should always use experienced industry professionals. Sample tests may entail you sending a sample to us. For larger jobs, you will need to arrange for our technicians to visit your premises and carry out a thorough inspection and obtain the relevant samples for testing.

We will provide you with full and detailed instructions on how to collect your own sample. We recommend wearing a ‘P2’ protective mask to deal with the potentially hazardous materials. Your sample, which should be between 5 grams to 100 grams, should be obtained using pliers with a wet wipe wrapped around them and then placed in a click lock plastic bag. This must then be double-bagged inside a second, separate bag.

You can either deliver the sample to us in person or contact us to arrange collection. For larger jobs, our technicians will come and extract the samples from your premises and transport them safely back to our partners laboratory.
